HEADS AFLOAT
Heads Afloat is a series of traditional hand-cut collages from reproduced artworks and old advertisements. I try to limit each work to only contain two synergistic elements at a time— this is so I minimize clutter and evoke a more concise narrative in every piece.
When I was working in this series, I thoroughly went through a stack of assets in search of images that communicated well with each other. Matching the duality of background and foreground to create a single, harmonious portraiture became a satisfying objective to pursue.
